Something Different

Standard

Some time ago …..

I’m always looking for something new to work with in my journal and sometimes  the most unexpected things show up. Like when I decided I needed to sharpen most of my inktense pencils.  I use them a LOT; I love the brightness of the colours and how easy they are to work with.

Anyway, the trash can was out of reach so I sharpened the pencils directly onto my journal page. Once done, I had an idea. What if I removed all the wood bits, leaving behind just the colours…and then spritzed with water?

Here’s what happened:

Drop the Excess Baggage

Standard

November 22, 2019

This journal page was inspired by the bold colours used by mixed media artist Nimah Baly (I love her work!).

Letting go of excess baggage allows us to embrace the fun, happy, and lighter side of life. If you’re worried about something you can’t fix, then it’s time to let it go.

Focus on the things that make you smile. For me, those things include animals, nature, good friends, and a good cup of coffee.

Creative Journaling Workshop – sample

Standard

A photo from my personal journal using prompts during the Creative Journaling Workshop series with Jean E. Tait. Response was good and I had lots of fun co-facilitating.

The prompts we used were designed to get participants to connect with different parts of themselves. This prompt was simply”Your Hands”:
